Family First Health to participate in Extraordinary Give fundraising campaign Nov. 20
Central Pa. – Family First Health is pleased to announce its participation in the Extraordinary Give, a
24-hour, online giving marathon where every dollar donated will be stretched by a $300,000 contribution from the Lancaster County Community Foundation, presenting sponsor Rodgers & Associates, and other generous supporters.
Beginning at midnight Friday, Nov. 20, donors are invited to visit www.ExtraGive.org from a computer, smartphone or other device and select Family First Health from the list of community benefit organizations. Your online donation (minimum of $25) is fully tax-deductible.
As part of the day’s celebrations, Family First Health will be at Union Station Grill in Columbia from 6 to 9 p.m., where 15 percent of proceeds from the evening will be donated to the health center.
The ExtraGive giving marathon provides a way for anyone to make an impact and strengthen the nonprofit sector of our community and go the extra mile for those who rely on Family First Health to provide affordable, high-quality medical and dental care and social services.

Three local agencies are teaming up to give out hundreds of shingles vaccines to those who are at risk and cannot afford it.
The Pennsylvania Department of State secured the Zoster vaccines through a grant and they will be administered at a clinic held at Family First Health located at 116 S. George St., York on Friday, December 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Staff from Family First Health, the York City Bureau of Health and the York County Health Center will be on hand to administer the vaccines and provide other information.
Anyone who had chickenpox is at risk for getting the virus. Shingles causes a rash that can last up to a month, and can result in pain that could last for years. One out of three Americans will have shingles at some point in their lives. The older you get, the weaker your immune system gets, which increases your risk of getting shingles. So even if you feel healthy now, the vaccine is encouraged. The vaccine boosts your immune system to ward it off.
Vaccines are FREE for all York County residents who are 60 years of age or older and are underinsured or uninsured.
Walk-ins will be accepted, and appointments can be made by calling the York City Bureau of Health at 717-849-2299.
