Tanya Barr, CRNP joined Family First Health in 2011.

She received her bachelor in Science of Nursing from Ohio University and her Masters in Science of Nursing from Wilkes University. She finished her Nurse Practitioner certification through AANP.

 

 

Where did you go to school and what did you study? I received my RN from Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences. I received my bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing from Ohio University. I received my Master’s Degree in the Science of Nursing from Wilkes University. I received my NP certification through AANP.
Where have you practice previously?  I have nursing experience in the emergency department, Intensive Care Unit, and in Peri-operative.
Why did you choose this profession? I chose to be an CRNP because I find medicine and human biology fascinating. I love to be around people and help them reach their goals.
What are your hobbies? For fun, I spend time with my 3 kids, family, and friends. I enjoy being outside and experiencing new adventures.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? My favorite thing to do outside of work is spend time watching my children play and watching my oldest on his horse.
What can a patient expect when they see you as a provider? A patient can expect to smile. They can expect to make joint decisions. They can expect to be heard and to be valued.
Why did you choose to work at Family First Health? I chose FFH because it feels like home. I started my medical career here, as a medical assistant, in 2011.I continued my education and I went on to become a nurse so that I could come back to FFH as a provider and contribute to the mission. I love what family first has to offer its patients and the community. I am proud to be part of it.
